SPAIN- Ban on Smoking in Public

If you travel to Spain in 2006, you will notice a change has taken place concerning smoking in Public. The government in December 2005, placed into law a ban on smoking in offices, hospitals, schools, and shopping centers. Also, bars and restaurants that are more than 1,076 square will be required to provide non-smoking sections.

  • Spain is the second largest per capita consumer of tobacco after Greece in Europe..
  • Spain bans advertising of tobacco.
  • Minimum age for purchase raised from sixteen to eighteen.
